Editorial, Reform Forum Number 13 The journal Reform Forum in Namibia continues to provide a forum for both members of the teaching community and other stakeholders working in other spheres of society who contribute to the exploration and discussion of those topics related to education. The journal gives students of education a forum for sharing their research and information, and we call on such persons to submit their work for us to publication. In this issue we include articles from a broad spectrum of interests, including cognition and conceptualisation of landscape in the Thimbukushu language as a reflection of cultural and environmental change; and integrating theory and practice: the search for a constructivist model. Another interesting paper is that of Criteria, competencies and cleft sticks. The author uses the metaphor of cleft sticks to define a number of different things pertaining to the development of change in Teacher Education in the Australian context. The talks about the ongoing efforts to bring about national standardised, quality teaching and teacher education. The current process and progress of this reform is presented in an interesting and open manner. All the articles in this volume are relevant to developmental education and make for thought provoking reading. Thank you to all the contributors! |
