website. This website is maintained and are regularly updated by the NIED webmaster.

INET is tasked with professional development for Teacher Educators.

INET supports Educational Professionals through assisting to avail local materials on
www.edsnet.na and published this website on CO-ROM.

INET also renders support to computer labs and TRC's. Which is a progression of what Learn Link started to put in place.

INET also works on Educational Management and Information Systems (EMIS) at all the regional education offices in general and colleges of education in particular.

INET assisted the
NIED webmaster in converting hard data into electronic form e.g. Namibian Education Resources CD-ROM, comprising of Syllabi. Teacher's guides, Subject policies, and other materials.

It is ear marked that refurbished computers are in the pipeline to different schools at the request of the schools concerned.

The NETA

NETA on one hand is also involved with equipping new technology to Namibian schools, but in terms of curriculum development in subjects like English. Math and Science. The project works in close consultation with LearnThings (UK) and Learn on line (SA).

NETA is trying to build in an Online based curriculum in the three subject areas of English, Science and Math.

NETA is offering training to schoolteachers. The first step is making our teachers computer literate before they can start using computer-generated programmes in their classrooms.

SCHOOL-NET is a USAID non-profit provider of Internet service, hardware and training to the Namibian schools.

XNET is used by NIED as their Internet Service Provider (ISP).

SCHOOL-NET provides Internet and computers to schools on demand or at the request of the schools concerned.
